On October 7th, the Vernon Hills employees celebrated Oktoberfest with clients from all over the Chicagoland area. A tent decorated with Oktoberfest banners was set up in the parking lot in back of the STS office. The STS picnic area was decorated with grapevines and lights to act as a beer garden. When clients arrived, they were presented with a beer stein bearing the STS logo and the Oktoberfest logo. They placed business cards in a basket for prize drawings. Everyone feasted on a spread of German specialties that included brats, chicken schnitzel, stuffed mushroom caps, German potato salad, spaetzel, strudel, and Black Forest cake. There were also giant pretzels to enjoy while people drank a selection of Oktoberfest and Weiss beers, wine and soda. As clients and employees mixed over the food, an oompa band played German music and sang. During the evening a prize drawing for clients was held. A Lake Geneva getaway, a DVD player, two putters, a Lettuce Entertain You gift certificate, and a golf basket were given away. All-in-all, the evening was "wunderbar!" |
