Clyde N. Baker, Jr., P.E., S.E. - 2000 Ralph B. Peck Award Recipient

 

Vernon Hills, IL - STS Consultants, Ltd.(STS) is honored to announce that Clyde N. Baker, Jr., P.E., S.E. has been selected by the Geo-Institute of the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) as the 2000 Ralph B. Peck Award recipient. Mr. Baker will be presented the award during the Performance Confirmation of Constructed Geotechnical Facilities Conference, April 9-12, 2000, in Amherst, MA.

The Ralph B. Peck Award is presented for outstanding contributions to the geotechnical engineering profession through the publication of thoughtful, carefully researched case history work.

Mr. Baker, who has been with STS for 45 years, serves as a Senior Vice President and Senior Principal Engineer. He has developed an international reputation in the design and construction of deep foundations. Mr. Baker has served as geotechnical engineer or consultant on six of the twelve tallest buildings in the world including the three tallest in Chicago (Sears, Hancock, and Amoco) and the current tallest building in the world, the Petronas Towers in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
