2003 Engineering Excellence Achievement Honorary Award
Given by: American Council of Engineering Companies (ACEC) of Minnesota
For successful application of slope stabilizing techniques that maximized the space available for project construction within a highly confined residential area.

2003 Engineering Excellence Award
Given by: American Council of Engineering Companies (ACEC) of Wisconsin
For a railroad improvement project that resulted in a $250,000-$300,000 per year cost savings for the client.

Concrete Design Award
Given by: Wisconsin Ready Mixed Concrete Association (WRMCA)
For work completed at the Domtar Industries, Inc. Centralia Dam.

WACE 2002 Engineering Excellence Achievement Award
Given by: Wisconsin Association of Consulting Engineers (WACE)
For outstanding work on the Marion Road/Pearl Avenue Brownfields Redevelopment Project in Oshkosh, Wisconsin.

ASCE Engineering Achievement Award

For outstanding work on the Marion Road/Pearl Avenue Brownfields Redevelopment Project in Oshkosh, Wisconsin.

2001

2001 ICRI Award of Excellence
Given by: The International Concrete Repair Institute (ICRI)
For outstanding concrete repair on the Port Edwards Dam Project.
The award placed first in the water structures category. Entries were judged on uniqueness, state-of-the-art methodology, materials usage, value engineering and aesthetics.

2001 Landfill Management Excellence Award
Given by: Solid Waste Association of North America (SWANA)
The award is based on several criteria meant to evaluate a commitment to environmentally and economically sound solid waste management. Among these criteria are environmental compliance, program efficiency and effectiveness, safety and innovation.

2000 Engineering Excellence Award
Given by: Wisconsin Association of Consulting Engineers (WACE)
STS designed a containment structure, buried east of the Kenosha street car barn that prevents an underground coal-tar "plume" from seeping into the city's harbor on Lake Michigan.

1999 Concrete Design Award

The project was submitted to the WRMCA by Wisconsin Valley Concrete for STS' work on the Port Edwards Dam Project.

For the Main Street Bridge project in Racine, Wisconsin.

1995 Outstanding Civil Engineering Achievement Award

Reason: Michigan State University/Spartan Stadium Renovation

1994 Civil Engineering Achievement Award

For the I-43/Silver Spring Drive interchange project in Glendale, Wisconsin.

1991 Civil Engineering Achievement Award
Given by: the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) Wisconsin Section.
For the State Trunk Highway 16 project in Oconomowoc, Wisconsin.

1988

1988 ASCE Engineering Achievement Award: (Wisconsin Section)
Given by: ASCE
Reason: The award recognized STS for several technically challenging design/construction accomplishments on the Milwaukee Center project. These included perimeter slurry wall for groundwater control; the use of the top down procedure to minimize lateral wall movement and to permit above-ground construction to proceed simultaneously with basement excavation; as well as the use of caisson foundations constructed under slurry for both a high end bearing pressure (60,000 psf) and significant side friction.

For the Milwaukee Center Underground Parking Structure project in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

1987 Distinguished Service Award
Recipient: Clyde N. Baker
Reason: For engineering three of the world’s tallest buildings

1st prize for History of Chicago Building Foundation 1948-83
Given by: Structural Engineers Association of Illinois
Recipients: Clyde N. Baker and John P. Gnaedinger

1987 NSPE National Award
Given by: NSPE
Reason: STS conducted extensive geotechnical analysis to evaluate the subsurface conditions for the U.S. Navy’s Extremely Low Frequency (ELF) submarine communication system to be placed underground on a site that spans Northern Wisconsin and Upper Michigan.

1986

1986 ASCE Outstanding Civil Engineering Achievement (Illinois Section)
Given by: ASCE
Reason: STS provided geotechnical engineering for six excavated reservoirs and earth dam flood control structures in northwest suburban Chicago. The effort for the Upper Salt Creek Watershed spanned a nine-year period and was developed by the MSDGC and SCS.

1986 Civil Engineering Achievement Award
Given by: the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) Wisconsin Section.
For the Highway 45 Embankment Stabilization project in West Bend, Wisconsin.
